ghana heads to the polls 2024
On the 7th of December 2024, Ghana held both presidential and parliamentary elections after the incumbent president, Nana Akufo-Addo, completed his term.
Former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won with 56.42%, defeating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the parliamentary elections, the NDC won 184 out of 276 seats while the New Patriotic Party got 88 seats, with independent candidates winning four seats.
